Story Time

While we were at the lake I had to leave for a short time to go to a graduation party. While I was gone John Milton went fishing by himself. He called and told me he got a big bass. John Milton has never been successful fishing in this lake before, so I was excited for him, then I found out the real story...while he was riding in the boat he saw a bass surface the water. Bass come up for air while trying to eat. When he got to the fish he was trying to eat another fish, (a brim) but the brim was to big for him and the bass was basically choking on the fish. So John Milton got 2 fish with the net. I don't have the picture of the brim. John Milton doen't need a fishing pole to catch fish, he only needs a net. This really is a true story.

1st Time to Lake

John's parents have a membership to Camp Blanding. This weekend we visited Papa John and Gran while they camped. John Milton went tubing, while Gran babysat in the camper. I wish I had my camera in the boat;) The weather was great we were able to sit by the lake under the shade trees with Little Man. Since he is premie the doctors advised us not to be around large crowds, so we figured some fresh air would do us some good. It was also Lily Rose's (Little Man's cousin) first time to the lake, she only stayed long enough to drop off her brothers with there grandparents. There is about 4 weeks between Little Man and Lily Rose. My sister-in-law and I were due the same week in June. Surprise, their both here.

Happy Memorial Day

John Milton couldn't resist the deer heads, he had to have a picture with Little Man between the deer heads. The sweet picture was taken when we was 4 weeks old. Its to cute not to share.

Off to grandma's house we go...

This weekend was our first adventure out of the house other than to the doctor's office. This past Friday we went to my parents house, then Saturday we spent the day at Gran and Papa John's house. Little Man got to meet GS for the first time.

Here some more pictures. The first picture was home sweet home.

Catching up

Ok, I am little behind on showing off Little Man's pictures. Here is a preview of our adventures in the hospital. Bare with me, I am still trying to figure out how to post all of these pictures. One day I will learn how to do a slide show.

Little man came early

As many of you know, little man came early. My due date was June 1, but my water decided to break on April 21 instead. He was born at 34 weeks and 1 day weighing 5lbs 3 oz and 18 1/2 inches long. Unfortunately his lungs were not fully developed so he required oxygen support for several days. I didn't get hold him until he was 48 hours old. I did get to hold him for about 2 minutes after delivery before they took him away. Since he was so early, he didnt have the suck, swallow, and breathe reflex. For nutrients he received TPN and Lipids (a mixture of vitamins and fat) thru an IV and eventually feedings were started through an NG tube we started at 6ml at a time. We finally made it to a bottle after a week but only twice a day. It takes a lot of energy to breathe and eat. We eventually worked our way up to 8 bottles a day. After 18 days of being in the special care unit we finally came home-May 9, 2009. I spent my 25th birthday at little man's bedside.
I will post pictures later, its time for a nap.
